Volnay is home to some of the silkiest, most seductive and feminine Pinot Noir in the World. Whilst the Côte de Nuits villages of Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny might be more famous, Volnay makes some of the very best red Burgundy. If Burgundy is all about gentle, seductive fruit then the best Volnay wines are the epitome of red Burgundy.

The vines are situated south of neighbouring Pommard though, significantly, slightly higher up the slope. The limestone soils give a lift, a purity and an elegance to the wines that is often disarming.
